Printing passport photos at CVS
CVS prints personal photos as a standard 4×6 order — including a six-up sheet you prepare at home. Treat it like any other photo print: upload your file, choose finish, pick up in store.
CVS does not certify that your image meets passport rules. Final acceptance is determined by the issuing authority.
Prepare your file
- Format a 2×2 passport-style image and a 4×6 sheet with multiple copies — 4×6 printing guide.
- Confirm requirements: plain background, correct head size, no heavy filters.
CVS photo print workflow
- Go to CVS Photo: cvs.com/photo (public print site).
- Select Photo Prints → 4×6.
- Upload your 4×6 sheet file.
- Choose matte when the site offers finish options.
- Complete checkout and select a CVS store for pickup (or delivery if offered for prints in your area).
- At home, cut 2×2 squares from the sheet for your application.
Kiosk and mobile upload
Many CVS locations support Photo Kiosk upload from the CVS app or a USB drive. Steps mirror the web flow: one 4×6 print, no extra cropping at the machine if your file is already a six-up layout.
Avoid these mistakes
- Uploading a single selfie and relying on auto-crop — often wrong head scale.
- Ordering glossy when matte is available — glare can hurt scans.
- Assuming the “passport photo” marketing tile means government approval — it is still a print service.
